The Democrats blew their big chance
If Lieberman had won the Democratic nomination, Bush would now be more or less history and Lieberman soon to be our next President. Instead they handed it to Kerry who's a tired old flip-floppy liberal and probably unelectable. Maybe it was the contrast between Dean and Kerry that tricked the Democrat party elite into this error, i.e. Kerry seemed moderate compared to Kerry. This was arguably the Democratic Party's second biggest blunder in recent history. Nominating George McGovern was their greatest error.
