Obviously there is a need for more troops in Iraq. The people there cannot handle the situation simply because there are not enough of them.

Why aren't there more? Is it because GWB & Co. have been refused funding?

Nope. It would sound too much like Vietnam, where there were endless demands for more people. Would sound too much like a quagmire. Would sound too much like the truth.

And there will be no draft before the November elections for the same reason. Not that the troops aren't needed, but because it would be bad news politically.

Clearly Bush and Co. have left those poor folks, our folks, fellow Americans, out there without adequate reinforcements for selfish political reasons.

(And the nonsense about giving the commanders on the ground whatever they want is for press conferences. Show me the commander with folks dying, with areas of their jurisdiction within which they dare not go, with uncertain and unprotected supply lines, who doesn't want and need more force and I'll show you another idiot.)
