My oldest son was the more devious of the two. We did manage to catch him several times, learning some useful lessons for use against his younger brother. Still, we know that he was better at getting away with things. Our younger son tried to be devious in high school but just wasn't quite sharp enough to pull it off most of the time.
Sometimes, my younger son and I discuss those days. We have a good laugh about it now, especially since he's about to be a parent. When he tells me about the things he did that I didn't know about, I tell him to "go to his room."
Of course, he has come a long way and we're very proud of him. A couple years ago, he and his lovely wife took Glo and I out to a nice restaurant in San Diego. When I went to pick up the check, he insisted, saying "As long as you're under MY roof..." He had me there.
Now that I'm going to have a granddaughter as well as a grandson, I have to see if I can find a Patty Wagstaff action figure or something similar. It's a goal of mine that at least one grandchild will be a pilot. As Patty demonstrates so well, Women Fly, too, and many of them are damned good at it.
