You got me going on a rant warpath. You should no better than to get a Texan ranting. This is why I try to stay off the CE board.
Your first point, “Are you saying that my post on space may have been off-topic there because it included a jab at the Bush admin? And that your failing to comment on its questionable position... I just decided that is the direction you are going so I will ignore the other wierd possibility.â€
Back to this thread. I saw you and Bowser jumping my tail because you thought my post had nothing to do with the thread. My reply was an example where I felt you did just that on the Space board. (I think we have all gotten off topic from time to time, and I really don’t have a problem with it. It makes the threads more interesting, and sometimes it keeps them going.)
I have noticed on the Space board that you and Bowser like to take jabs at Bush from time to time. You want to take jabs at him, that is fine, but that is more Political than Space related. Occasionally, it doesn’t bother me, but lately it seems (I said seems) like every post of Bowsers and about half of your Space board post have some negative Bush context to them. I find myself asking, what does this have to do with space?
Still that is your right and go ahead if you like.
With threads and boards, sometime we do stray off-topic, and I think that is okay. I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t want us here to start analyzing everyone’s post. We start doing that, everyone goes away. We should at least try to stay with the theme of whatever board we are on, but I think it is okay to talk about other things.
To sum it up. I am okay with you are anyone speaking their mind about any topic. And I am okay with you are anyone staying from the thread’s topic, or even the board. I don’t want people jumping me for it (Yes, I know I sometimes talk to much)
On your second point, “Another thing: saying your argument was irrelevant is not the same as saying you shouldn't have posted. Sorry if it sounded that way. I make irrelevant arguements from time to time (just ask Tom) when I misunderstand something or maybe I'm just wrong on the issue. The best way to deal with me when you catch me in the act, is to tell me it's irrelevant and explain why you think so.â€
Okay. Works for me.
And I don’t think you are one of those who screams for free speech but wants to silence those who opposes them. There are people like that, but I don’t think anyone on these boards is like that. None of you would be posting here if you were like that. I am sorry I threw that one at you, but I was on a rant.
See, I got to stay of CE- I should stick to Science. I get to ranty on CE.
