I think that is great news.

What are the odds of getting Turkey to join? Seriously. They just might help bridge the gap between the Middle East and the Free World.

Anyway, good for Europe. Can we call you UCU (United Countries of Europe)?

The Confederate States of America wanted America to be something like the United Europe. Under the CSA, the States would have had powers more like individual countries, than of States. I personally like the good old USA the way it is.

I wonder if Europe will evolve towards a setup like the USA where the countries loose some power and become state-like for a new country called the USE (United States of Europe) Such a country would have more power, IMO, then smaller, separate countries.

Do European countries even want to be that united with each other? It seems to me that you are very close. You have a unified currency and probably unifying laws.

We’ll see what happens.
