to be fair - they explained all this in todays director update

They did one uplink at 1000 bps instead of 500 bps - so the rover didnt 'get' it. That's the only problem. Human error at this end - not a problem with the rover itself. Little things like this being to crop up when you strip down to the bare minimum of people to run the show. Lest we forget, the orig. plans estimated that something like 1 in 4 days would be lost due to errors of some description. I think Opportunity has lost two sols in total in it's near 100 sol life, and Spirit had the long glitch - but I think only 2 other lost days since then. They were expecting a 25% downtime - and they're getting 2%. Cant argue with that.
