A few things in Iraq
While our media have been obsessing on the prison photos, other things have been going on in Iraq.
Sadr, encouraged, has started another offensive in Basra.
It's a lot quieter in Fallujah, but I don't think this is good news. My every instinct is telling me that the Iraqis we are sending in are not going to be that reliable.
When it hits the fan here, and we call on the Iraqis in Fallujah for help, I'm really worried our military will suddenly face a "what do you mean "we," white man?" scenario.
We are trying to fight a war without hurting anyone. It may not be possible. Can our current culture handle that? I'm not sure.
