Exploring alternatives

When I bring up Clinton, or Gore or the U.N., it is exploring alternatives, or wondering about better ideas.

I haven't seen much in the last dozen pages of posts from some people other than "Bush sucks." While that may give you a warm feeling "down there," it isn't going to help Kerry win the election or help America come out ahead in this war.

Al Qaeda was cultivated through two Clinton terms, and after 9/11, it is a valid question to ask if the people running the Democratic Party have any better ideas than they had when they were in charge.

What ideas do the Democrats have? Can they justify their concept of "internationalization" based on the past record of the U.N., France, and others on the take from Saddam? Is Kucinich's promise of unilateral and immediate withdrawal the only position consistent with Democratic principles? Is doing exactly what Bush is doing in Iraq a plausible political platform to win the election?

These and many related questions are being firmly avoided by the media and the Democrats. Maybe they hope that if they pound on the Bush administration hard enough he will disappear in a puff of sulphurous smoke and Kerry will win by default.
