Now, is it a conservative thing to try to excuse US misbehavior by pointing out that Saddam was worse?

Saddam is gone. A prisoner of the US. History.

And Americans are and/or were torturing Iraqis. They were not torturing Iraqis to get rid of Saddam. He's gone.

The two have no linkage. Unless, conservatives are in a contest to prove that the US has a "kinder, gentler" torture. A "compassionate" torture.

Thereby demonstrating for the entire goddamned world that the US is superior to Saddam.

It's truly sad. Saddam was worse. Period. Doesn't give the US license to be a bit less worse, especially not in the name of bringing freedom and democracy..

And conservatives think the only American problem is the press coverage. Not that the US invaded the damned place for no legitimate reason, not that the US tortured people, but that the world knows it. That's the issue.

That's not rational to this mind. Don't do things, and it doesn't matter what they say.

A lesson from puppyhood. Was taught that early.
