I must keep an open mind and consider all the possibilities.

Yeah, I've heard that one before. There are websites out there that are so far off the deep end that the fish around you have lights on their noses. They don't belong here. Just because somebody can think up some crackpot scenario does not make it a valid argument.

Back when Clinton was president, loonies on the Right had him running drugs, shooting people, causing plane crashes, and putting the evil eye on cows to sour their milk. Oh wait. That was Hillary.

You could pick out such a looney by asking them about Vince Foster and watching the mouth start to foam.

What enters an "open mind" has to flow through the filter of reason and intelligence to pick out the crap. That goes for science, politics, and every other field of endeavor. This entire board is the result of being buried under the ideas of people who had no filter at all in areas of space and science.

There are people who will buy almost anything you tell them if it fits the way they want to feel about the world. And I'm not talking about hoping it's true. I'm talking about believing it. This is not the way things should work.
