Most of the media, the congress, and a lot of other people ignored this story until the pictures put meat on it. This is not a "coverup." This is the media and Congress ignoring an issue until it became suitable for use as a political weapon. The Pentagon released information about the accusations and the investigations in press releases months ago. It was covered by the Washington Post. Investigations, corrections, and legal actions were underway.

11 Democratic Senators were told of this in February. Somehow, I must have missed the massive outrage from those Senators.

It's difficult enough having these discussions without terms being redefined to suit your purposes.
