They truly believe that. "It's all politics" is the cry, as if Republican politicians shouldn't be accountable for their actions.

It's a bit like the Anti-Defamation League and US media. Anything which shows Palestinians to be human, or Israelis to be brutal is greeted with an "anti-semitic" label and there are threats to boycott.

That's why the US has such a skewed view of the Middle East, and what the conservative True Believers hope to emulate for conservative politicians.
