Not an astrophysicist

My area was atomic molecular and optical (AMO) physics...but I do read the literature in many other areas... like cosmology and astronomy... My PhD research was in strong field(laser)- atom interactions, my favorite subjects are relativity and particle physics. Many tests and homework questions

I did not go into academia- my first job was the EUVL (Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography project at Sandia Natl. Lab) I then moved to working on a laser guide star for an observatory in hawaii... That is what I am doing now...

Funny thing is that my jobs have all been working with lasers- the one thing I NEVER had a class in,,,
