The real question is how will the American public react to the widely anticipated Al Queda terrorist attack in late October
It's eerie when you just know something bad's going to happen but not when and where. Most terrorism experts fully expect a major terrorist attack shortly before the November 2004 US Presidential election. It's simply too big a target for Al Queda to pass up, and the experience in Spain only bolstered that belief in their minds.
Just a hunch but I believe that the reaction of the American voters will be exactly the opposite of what happened in Spain. They will rally behind Bush. Perhaps that's exactly what Al Queda wants? Or on the other hand do they wish to provoke Bush's removal from office, like the Iranian militants manipulating US voters in 1980?
