re: The president and the war

War Crimes?
Rumsfeld, yes.
Bush? No. That would be like disgracing Ronald Reagan around here and his great memory. Bush and his father are hard core Americans and many Americans identify with them. And many Americans can't see the whitewashings and the crooked business deals and how this group operates. They haven't done their homework or followed the Bush family history. They haven't looked into their long-standing drug ties or how the CIA operates around the world. And they don't CARE. They are blind to all this.

And around here, people are content to go to church and live in their nice homes and identify with their conservative neighbours. They don't want to have to think that something stinky lies under their rugs.

No, this administration is the most powerful on earth, and their power is stolen. They get to do what they want. They have thrown out all the rules. I often wonder myself if this cyle can be broken, or if we're going to drag the whole wide world down with us.

Our standing as the greatest power in the world is now self-evident for everyone to see. We start "pre-emptive wars" whenever and wherever we want, and we don't live by the rules. We threaten or co-erce our allies and we are arrogant.

You tell me who's going to prosecute Rumsfeld. You tell me who's gonna touch GWB. Have you seen him lately on TV? He has this smile that goes from here to hell. He really thinks he's all that.
