The March and April jobs numbers were revised upward to 346,000 and 353,000 new jobs respectively (original numbers were 308,000 and 288,000. This is the second time the March numbers have been revised upward.) This is an average over the past three months of about 316,000 new payroll jobs a month. If this trend holds up (which would be amazing), America will have surpassed the all-time high employment peak of 2001 (132,507,000) in five months. Currently, the payroll employment level is 131,224,000, which is about 1.3 million jobs short of that level.
Of course, if we were talking household numbers, the current level of 138,772,000 is an all-time high, almost 1.4 million jobs more than the peak of 137,738,000 in March of 2001.
