Though I defer to the people who know a lot more about what's going on than I do, I sure would like to have a look at the heat shield and the trench it must have dug. A couple of weeks ago at the JPL open house I asked one of the people at the MER display if they planed on going down to the heat shield, and he was not very encouraging. He wasn't just a publicity man, he was one of the managers you see often at the news briefings and during the landings. Opportunity missed!
