re: On D-Day: The 507th at Graignes

My mother's brother, Pvt. Thomas E. Maltby HQS.CO. 3RD BN 507TH was killed in action on 11 June 1944. He was awarded the Silver Star for providing machinegun fire after the gunner and A-gunner were seriously wounded, while his unit repositioned. Eventually his position was overrun. We're not sure, but the date coincides with the dates and unit position to be at Graignes. We would appreciate any information someone would have on Pvt. Maltby. thank you.
