My gerat Uncle "Pete", Sgt. Benton Joseph Broussard, died in Graignes, France on June 11, 1944. He was with the 82nd Airborne, 507th PIR. My entire family were told an entirely different story of what happened to him, and not until 60 years later dd we hear that there was much more to the story. We are now desparately trying to find surviving members of Uncle Pete's unit, the 507th PIR, and talk with them about what they may have known of Sgt. Benton J. Broussard.
