Chernobyl is a very strong and personal image to me....
The 'Best Man" in my wedding was 15 miles from Chernobyl with a US Women's swimming team when it blew.
Happily, the soviets wisked them away on a plane to Moscow at 2:30am and the group was the benficiary of favorable winds that seems to have protected them from the dirt of this disaster.
Chernobyl has no other reality for me than it spared a friend.
