Hero phony? I see no point you made. You showed that republicans can and do disagree with each other which is the American way and a good thing, not bad.
If political parties start agreeing with every decision there party president makes, then I would start worrying about that party.
President Reagan proved he was no phony by sticking to his belief throughout his presidency.

Reagan was elected governor twice by a landslide
Reagan was elected president twice by a landslide.
In fact no other president was elected president by such a large margin in history.

The real hell is being a minority trying to smear a president admired by so many people and world leaders.
