re: Poor Jerry Ford

Poor Jerry Ford is right. He really was a pretty bright guy, hard-working and prepared. A little shy, he was a good football player and wasn't as much of a klutz as portrayed.

I have a couple of biographical books on him around here, too lazy to go get them now, but they are worth reading.

By the way, his last name was never formally changed to "Ford". He adopted the name from a step-father some time after his financially well-off biological father abandoned the family.

Anyway, he's an interesting guy. The books make a great case for pardoning Nixon, too, even though I disagreed with it.
