I wonder if the Hematite spheres found in Utah provide a useful analog here.

Certainly the Hematite spheres found in the state of Utah are water-formed [a long time ago].
and those Hematite spheres ['blueberries'] found on Mars are most likely to have
an aqueous origin also.
But I wonder if any microfossils have ever been found in those Utah Hematite
spheres?
