Michael Moore's New Movie

Well, I just got back from seeing Farenheit 911.
Luckily, the lines weren't too long and I got to watch the movie with a Vietnam Vet and a political science professor, old friends of mine.

The movie has an impact, but a little different from what I expected. Although Moore definately leaves GWB hung out to dry by his own behaviour, you cannot help to see the corporate interests that were linked to Septemeber 11th AND to the decision to invade Iraq.
It WAS the oil.

It never fails to amaze me how business leaders in the halls of power manipulate everybody for their bottom line.......MORE PROFIT. And you can see how this administration not only PUSHED everything through, but how they blocked any and all investigations that were trying to stop it. Everything they did was at their CONVENIENCE.

There are scenes in the movie that can make you cringe when you see how the "propaganda" of this war was fed to our soldiers. There were terse moments where the glee with which some of these kids used to justify the killing of the "enemy", is convincingly uncomfortable and blatantly wrong. You can see the whole picture.

Killing on both sides never solved anything. But the pipeline goes through. Profits are made by the oil and defense industries, while lives and infrastructures are torn up for THEM and their DOLLARS.
I thought the movie ended on a weak note, but the film all in all is pretty powerful. After all, it IS a documentary.

Go see it. All you conservatives and Bush supporters. Go with the thought in mind that this is all left wing propaganda. Go see it so you can argue effectively about what you see in it. Then come back here and we'll talk.
