Hi Bowser !
You have some good questions there.
First let me explain that we had a federal election here in Canada, both the Conservatives and the Liberals seemd to be getting quite hot under their respective collars before the election day. I don't know if that was the effect of global warming or it's cause. Neither party mentioned anything about the environment, or if they did I did not hear about it.
On a more serious note; I wish that everyone that is interested in the global environment would take some time and collect some very simple 'proof' of the warming/cooling effect.
If many people in various parts of the world would make a note of the temperature of the air and the soil at, say three-o clock in the morning and three in the afternoon for a period of a week out of every month, and if they would continue such recording for a period of several years, then that information would contain the 'proof' needed to evaluate the reality of the global temperature change.
I suspect that the yearly average temperature will remain very close to a constant, but the daily fluctuations will indicate a change.
The 'proof' of the global changes will be in the slowly changing values of the daily high and low temperature difference. The temperatures will go higher than normal for the soil measurements and the air temperature will indicate a lower than normal temperature at night and in shady areas whereas the direct sunshine will seem hotter than normal.
To put it differently, there will be a record number of high and record number of low temperatures around the world.
Naturally there will be other changes that are related to the temperature and pressure gradients of the atmosphere.
I have explained the reason why such changes will happen but so far no one seems to believe that it can happen. I suppose that their understanding of the laws of physics is not adequate or they have some other personal agenda which prevents them from accepting new information.
At 3:30 this morning the air temperature here was 8 degrees Celsius and at 3:30 this afternoon it was 28 degrees Celsius. For a twelve hour period the 20 C degree (about 26 F deg.) change does not seem 'normal' to me for this location. If this trend continues, then in twenty years the temperature change between night and day at this location will be about 35 or more Celsius degrees.
Cheers
Johannes
