Absolutely ignores the article.

The gist of the article seems to be that a puppet regime, held in place by American troops, might engender legitimate resistance from Iraqis. (The situation seems very much like the Soviet occupation of Hungary, Czechoslovkia, Rumania, etc., after WWII. The governments were "sovereign" as long as they did the master's will.)

The articles continues. If the Iraqis rebel against the puppet regime, that would be a legitimate rebellion, and trouble would just be starting.

Any comments on that? Instead of rattling on about another American disaster, Vietnam. Where the atrocities commited by the North in assimilating the South were similar to those committed by the Allied forces in the South.

Displacement of hundreds of thousands of people, murder of non-combatants, bombing, defoliation, and various other ways of abusing a population were rampant.
