Current Events » in reply to re: The New Iraq........the version by their new Prime Minister

The Middle East has been ruled by iron hands for centuries

Who would think it would go otherwise?
For the conservatives here who think deposing Sadam and taking over a country with millions of inhabitants the size of California,(AT OUR EXPENSE) was a good idea, all I can say is this was NOT a good idea.

What did we get for our idealism?
We know who got the oil and the banks.
And it wasn't us, the taxpayers.
This little excursion based on a piece of paper called The Project for the New American Century and signed by many of those in our current administration is a failed experiment. Bloodshed and intercine warfare is the ONLY outcome of this project. To think otherwise, is noble, but unrealistic.

The insurgents will keep coming as the country stays split.
Like Israel and Palestine, there will be no peace.
And let's not hope we arm Allawi to the hilt, even with WMD.
(And don't put it past us, after all there is a buck to be made, especially if we think the Saudis might become a threat....)
Say, don't go there....

And more muslims HATE us, even more.
There are moments when I read something good, and I realize it's just in a small, secure area of Iraq. I had hopes too, but I know better. All the rhetoric in the world doesn't take away my common sense.
