You're carrying the analogy a bit too far
The article describes the irrational hostility of the radical Left toward America as being similar to the irrational hostility of anti-Semitism, and with similar political ends. This does not make the radical Left "Nazis." Just irrational. The author could have made this clearer.
This hatred long predates Bush, and goes back many years. I remember it from college.
