Who knows. Just the first quote seemed a bit severe that a musician would be that critical of their audience. It would ruin the experience. Basically, when I've been on stage I'm pretty much appreciative of anyone that's appreciating me back, regardless of their political slant. Certainly Ronstadt is a liberal but there's quite the conservative side to her as well. She pretty much dropped out of rock and roll for decades to sing opera, 40's showtunes and mariachi stuff. Hardly the stuff of a hippy dropout.
By the way, the article I read mentioned her brother Mike. He was a senior my sophomore year in high school in Tucson. Understand he was quite the drug source back then. My sister went to school with her but hardly knew of her. All I know is she sure looked and sounded sexy back in the 70's at the concerts I went to. One memorable one she wore a Cub Scout uniform to....a very small one. Hard to judge a woman like that.
