Exporting American "culture".

According to an article in the NYT as cited in Drudge, 3.2% of the adult population of the US is in jail, prison, or on parole or probation.

Coupled with the divorce rate, the increasing gap between the haves and have nots, the war waged on the middle class, ours is a society with serious problems.

It is a society populated with good people, a basically kind, compassionate society which will make the right decisions when given accurate information, and it is in trouble.

Exporting what we have could easily mean the destruction of finely honed cultures, which usually have much stronger family ties than exist in the US.
And nothing is more important than a sense of community, of belonging, than usually exists in less affluent countries.

And, people can find some wierd place and judge the world from that. Inaccurately.
