Well, I've always supported Meridiani and it's far and away the better of the two, but it's delights are highlighted by he contrast with Gusev as a drier, more volcanic site.
I originally felt that Gusev was a bit of a wasted chance, but it has improved with time. The vastly better roving capability compared to previous missions has allowed us to do more than just poke at local rocks and actually to set off in search of outcrop.
I had also been a little pessimistic about what would be in the Columbia Hills, but I think we're seeing a very interesting range of rock types with some good stories to tell about impact history and possible early fluids.
I'd like to see some more scientific results - most of the mossbauer and x-ray data remain secret, so we don't have much idea what's going on.
Should be a good LPSC conference next year, anyway!
