re: Other site suggestions?
I say drop a rover into the bottom of Valles Marineris. Looking at pictures of that area, there seem to be lots of smooth areas in that valley where a rover'd have a pretty good chance of surviving the landing. Not sure how abundant solar power would be down in a canyon so might have to be a nuclear powered craft.
Course I'd want it as much for the grand pictures as for the science.
