She's not as ignorant as you might think.
The Palins of this world know exactly what they are doing. They're just not as subtle as the Gingrich's.

Every time she opens her mouth she has an opportunity to fire off one of her ideological buzz-words, like "freedom", "liberty", "principle", "American", "founder", "guns","constitutional", "our troops" or some other temporary one suitable for the occasion.

Like all demagogues, she understands that every criticism or questioning of what she says can be deflected by simply labeling it as an attack on the buzz-word. In other words, she wraps herself in the flag, and if you mention she's full of shit, then she attacks you for disrespecting the flag.

The tactic may not work with her critics, but it reinforces her followers in the belief her opponents are opposed to those lofty concepts she has highjacked to push her lies. By expropriating patriotic, religious or moral terminology into her narrative, she can dismiss any attack on her philosophy as an attack on country, god, or human decency. This demonizes her opponents and makes her invulnerable to attack, at least among the
knuckle-draggers who are taken in by this nonsense. This is why sometimes we HAVE to burn the flag, just to show these bastards we're on to their scam.

Yeah, she has every clue. She's either got an instinct for this, or she's been coached by experts. She knows getting the facts right doesn't matter, because its not about the facts, its about repeating the lie and wrapping it in sentimentality.

These people are evil, and they are winning.
