This has nothing to do with "space travel", but...I'm glad I got
a chance to work on a sort-of home-built wind-turbine project.
First! I was grateful for my hippy wannabe friends living
between Ottawa & Toronto, not far from Peterborough, for getting me involved.

I love arc-welding!
Plenty of greasy grimy work days on my 3-week working vacation.
But the unique wind turbine?
It works!

I had the chance to dig up suitable wind-turbine materials
from a trash heap. Lots of money saved that way.
The machine?
It has a 6-foot diameter air-intake.
[Aha! One of you engineers will say, a large funnel air-scoop!]
And with about a 25mph wind, it generates close to 700 watts of electricity. That's almost 35% efficiency.
Bu there are problems with it! Both technical and environmental.
