For example, several times back in the 1980s, he spoke on the Senate floor about spending Christmas of 1968 in Cambodia and blaming it on Nixon. Only, he was 50 miles from the Cambodian border and Nixon wasn't president until a month later. Oops!

Was that a lie or did he just misspeak? There are many more examples out there.
