Current Events

War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Truth is...........

Gee, on these boards I keep hearing about how this current administration is "turning the economy around." And the pro-Bush crowd is taking curtain calls.

I look around and see jobs being exported overseas and an economy supported not by production but consumption. I see the Fed. orchestrating the devaluation of the dollar, the rise of the Euro, and increasing M1 money supply to an extent never seen before.

I look at the reports of the Congressional Budget Office and look at the past record deficit under Ronald Reagan in 1986 was 221.2 billion dollars. I look and see that record was duly broken by Republican George Bush in 1992 when we went into the hole 290.4 billion.

Then wonder of wonders, I look at the year 2000 in the Clinton Democratic administration and see we ran a SURPLUS of 236.4 billion dollars.

Then, under the next Republican administration of G.W. Bush we have a new record set in 2003 304.0 billion. When the figures come out for 2004 I am sure we will see another new record of failure.

Very hard for me to understand how the Bush apologist can consider this a successful administration? This debt is nearly 50 per cent owned by Japan and China. Is selling out America at fire sale prices a measure of success?

You got some 'splainin' to do Lucy?
