Why is Kay editing his memory and his public record?
The NSC was in no small part making its findings based on what he and others were saying.
The rationale for attacking Iraq did not start in 2001.
The war was not waged solely because of WMDs.
Kay is selling himself out if he is trying to say he was not certain at the time that Iraq was a credible and dangerous threat. And his own inspections after the war show that Saddam was in fact seeking WMD capabilities he was prohibited from pursuing...according to Kay himself.
The point of the war against Saddam was to crush a chronic threat before it could hurt us further.
It was successful.
