Umm, noooo, I don't think so. They take pictures during instrument ops (actually before and after), so if the instruments were in use the cameras were probably pointed at the work area. Hard to picture the rover hard at work with its arm while staring idly off into space with its camera.
Points for creativity, though. If we ever do figure it out (which is doubtful), it's probably going to be something mundane wrapped in a unique circumstance, like you came up with.
