To me, there’s really no significant difference (other than appearance and some added features) between my Win98 box and my XP box. I’ve had XP for about a year and the only problem that I have encountered was when I downloaded a Microsoft service pact. IMO - If you’re upgrading to another Microsoft OS you might as well go with the latest version instead of an earlier version that may be phased out sooner than XP.

I would go with XP if I were you unless of course you are considering a UNIX OS (which is just as good)
