Hey Frank
What is your nephew going to be doing over there? I had a offer to go about 10 months ago to help rebuild the telecommunications network for a AT&T contractor. I would have had to sign a 2 year contract and would have been paid $170K per year with a $10K signing bonus. I seriously considered going, but with family and other responsibilities I had to turn it down.
I really hope your nephew enjoys the adventure and stays safe. In a way I kind of regret not going, it’s a once in a lifetime offer (and experience) that will probably never come again.
