For some the choice is the military or prison or death by gang warfare.

This is a lie. It has always been a lie. It fits the leftist agenda of portraying our military men and women as helpless dupes, not to mention feeding into their usual agenda of portraying the poor and minorities as nothing but pitiful victims, but it's still a lie.

There are always other choices. To claim that this is something that can't be helped is not only paternalistic and racist, but spits in the eyes of millions of men and women who grew up in ghettos, third-world conditions, or other miserable surroundings, and still made good and prosperous citizens of themselves in America.
