re: Is it worth it?

The death count is a way for americans to realize that going to war is an extremely serious and dangerous thing. War can only be the last solution and only if the problem is serious enough.
Your president decided on his own to go to war, without knowing for sure if Iraq was a threat to the world. He therefore took war far too lightly.
It's perhaps too early for americans to realize this and they could vote for Bush, but there is no way the US can win this war as democracy in Iraq is nowhere in sight. Far too many factors are missing for democracy to become a reality in Iraq. Iraq's new leader will either remind us of its neighbouring Iran or of its previous dictator.
There is a small chance democracy will appear, but will it last?
The whole thing is : was it all worth it?
Fo the moment, nearly 1,000 US soldiers died and more than 10 times Iraqis. Are those deaths worth it?
I don't believe so.
