McCain isn't helping Bush to try and borrow some of Dubya's cachet...geez, gimme a break! Rather, Bush is hoping that some of McCain's class will rub off on him. Not that even McCain has enough class to make up for Dubya's huge deficit.

Personally, I think McCain's demeaning himself this year. I'm reminded of Mark Twain's observation:

"If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat."

Bush gains by the association, McCain loses by it. What in the hell was he thinking?
