Ever since I saw that image of him endorsing the president here in Phoenix at a campaign stop and the strained look on his face when Bush hugged him, I've had this fleeting notion that his supposed strong moral convictions can either be bought or coerced. I like anyone that bucks their party but had Barry Goldwater taken the abuse that George Bush had thrown at McCain in the election, there's no way in hell that Barry would've supported the man.
I've often wondered about McCain if maybe the Bush camp doesn't have something on him. They only let him go so far in opposing the party platform and then they put the hammer down on him and you see him giving some tight-lipped endorsement soon after.
Now on the human side, I have to admit that my opinion may be also swayed by that damned comb-over that seems to get worse every year. John, just shave the thing.

Former McCain supporter. Not so sure now and he's my senator.
