We all love to tease each other here...but seriously: Strong Building codes save lives...I hope this next storm misses you and your state, but its only a matter of time before another one comes your way.
Homes could be built to withstand the wind and most of the flying debris. Water is a seperate issue altogether, but even there, strong building codes are a key to survival. (In addidition to people listening to the evacuation orders)
Yes stronger codes would cost $$$. But you must pay now, or risk paying even more dearly later.
