It seems to me that if one wanted to get as much information about themselves disseminated as efficiently as possible,
they would spew some basic form of DNA out into the void. As protected as possible from radiation, or DNA in a form which could absorb either the radiation or the damage.
And then wait. But if a civilization were circling a dying sun, for instance, that might be the way they would choose to have a chance at immortality.
