I agree. But my friend who swears by them is no slouch, either.
He's a 74 y/o Ph. D. from Stanford who is publishing a lot of material on Kindle. He likes going to the Bahamas or visiting his kids and having the same stuff on any computer he uses. Or his Chromebook.
My tablet purchase has gone into the new old RV, plus thousands more as I add two directional antennae and rotors, snow tires 10 ply) and chains (3 pair as you can't repair cable chains), additional propane and gas capacity, rearview and sideview cameras, interior and exterior lighting and security cameras, and so on. Should have it finished for harsh winter travel in a month or so. In the meantime I'll be trying out his Chromebook.
