The pollsters ask people if the want W. Bush or Kerry for President, when what they really want is a system which will provide them with some better candidates.

If one actually ignores most of the invective which flies around around here, one finds that nearly everyone agrees about the qualities of certain individuals, both Republicans and Democrats.

But recently, none of these people have ever ended up being their Party's candidate for President.

Oh well. Somebody else will have to figure this one out. It's really not my problem, as the final planetary defense systems against asteroid and comet impact will be mounted on an international basis.
