Osama bin Laden - Update on his reported capture
(04.09.2004)
Two days ago we reported that Osama bin Laden had been captured in Pakistan 4 weeks ago.
You can read our article on this by clicking here. It received quite a bit of interest and a number have people (on other sites) have questioned whether the news is true.
Unfortunately, we are unable to confirm this, but would repeat that this source has been reliable in the past.
Hopefully, our readers will understand that we are unable to reveal our source as this could compromise their position (one works closely with the US government). As to whether people choose to believe this information is a matter of choice. We must admit that the information we have been given (received in Moscow) is hard to accept. Not the capture itself, but the implications of someone withholding such information.
We came across an article at the following site: http://www.airforcetimes.com/story.php?f=1-292925-336583.php which we found interesting. We would like to make it clear that although we are quoting an extract from this article, we are not suggesting that there is any connection between our report and the comments made in the article.
In the article the following comment was apparently made by Cofer Black, a U.S. State Department coordinator for counterterrorism (and former CIA agent) "If you are asking if we are close to getting OBL, the answer is yes....Our president (George W. Bush) has said we will arrest Osama bin Laden. It is guaranteed" adding "it could happen tomorrow, in a week or a month from now". This article was dated the 3rd of September 2004.
If Osama bin Laden has been captured, as our sources say, 4 weeks ago, we should examine the reasons for keeping this information from the public. We don't actually believe that George Bush would be involved in such a cover-up, but we are not so sure about other members of his team.
The rest is here.
