re: Four SEALs Are Charged With Abuse Of Prisoners

' "He was reportedly resisting arrest, and a SEAL team member butt-stroked him on the side of the head" -- that is, struck his head with the butt of a rifle -- "to suppress the threat he posed," the Fay report said.

The CIA took custody of the prisoner when he was brought into Abu Ghraib and placed him in a shower stall with a sandbag over his head, the report said. When an MP checked him less than an hour later, the detainee was dead. '

It doesn't sound like the SEALs did anything wrong. Perhaps they failed to warn the CIA that the prisoner might have had a serious concession. But I imagine that a proper CIA procedure in receiving prisoners would be to check for this in any case.
I'm not a doctor but it doesn't sound very safe, to mix a serious concession, extreme exhaustion, plus hot conditions. The supposed fact that they check on him in less than a hour, should been an adequate precaution, but of course, it would depend on how serious the concession was and/or how much exhaustion and heat he was exposed to. Plus of course he could be dehydrated- no mention of giving the prisoner any water.
It seems like it's more the fault of CIA.
